Limitless Summoner: Rise of the Soul God

Chapter 118 I am Luna

Chapter 118 I am Luna

Ethan watched, completely mesmerized, as the little girl dashed from row to row, her silver curls bouncing with every step. Water danced from her tiny fingers, shimmering in the sunlight as it spiraled gracefully through the air, landing perfectly on each herb. She was laughing, her voice light and joyful, completely unaware of the impossibility of what she was doing.

"How the hell is she doing this?" Ethan muttered, his brows furrowing. It didn't make sense. Everything he had learned so far told him that a human body simply couldn't handle mana until the age of eighteen.

It was a biological limit—one that no one could break. Not even prodigies. Not even monsters. But here she was, no more than five or six years old, wielding mana like it was second nature to her.

This kid, this tiny little girl, was casting the spell effortlessly, something he had struggled to get right. And she wasn't just doing it—she was better at it than he was. Her control was flawless, her mana flowing without hesitation or resistance. It was like the mana was a part of her, an extension of her body. Stay connected through My Virtual Library Empire

"There are always exceptions to the rule, huh?" Ethan whispered to himself, his eyes never leaving her. But what kind of exception was she?

Was she even human? A thought popped into his mind.

It did not make sense before. Why would a single child be kidnapped and kept underground in a tunnel, so close to the city and covered up by a swarm of rats? Was it slave pen? A slave pen so close to the main city?

Also, it was just this single child, and she should not be awakened yet. So how was she tagged with the slave status in the first place? Only those who did not awaken with a system class were deemed as heretics and cursed. Why this small child? None of it made any sense.

Her hair color was special, but that alone made some interested in her? It didn't feel right. Then there were the men in the red cloaks? Some sort of cultists?

No matter who they were, they should not have been able to act so daringly this close to the main city. Ethan had thought a lot about this. The only way all of this was possible was if the city Lord was directly involved in this.

"A name?" she repeated. She looked down, her tiny fingers twisting together as she considered the question. "I... I don't know..." Her face scrunched up, deep in concentration. "I never thought about it before."

Ethan watched her, his heart tightening. Of course, she hadn't thought about it. Whatever she went through, whoever did this to her, they stripped her of everything, even her identity. But she was here now, and he was going to make sure she never felt nameless again.

He crouched down, placing a gentle hand on her head. "That's okay. We can pick one together." He offered her a warm smile. "How about something pretty? Something that suits you."

The little girl's face lit up, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Something pretty? Like... like flowers?" Her smile widened. "I like flowers! They're pretty, and they smell good!"

Ethan chuckled. "Alright, flowers it is. How about... Lily?"

She wrinkled her nose, shaking her head vigorously. "No, no. Lily sounds boring. I want something special!" She spread her arms wide, her voice echoing with enthusiasm. "Something magical!"

Something magical, huh? He looked at her, her silver curls glinting under the sun, her bright eyes filled with wonder. She was like a little moonbeam, pure and radiant. Then it hit him.

"How about... Luna?" he suggested, his voice gentle. "It means 'moon.' Bright, beautiful, and magical."

The little girl's eyes widened, her face lighting up with pure joy. "Luna...?" She repeated the name, her voice soft and awestruck. "Luna... like the moon?"

Ethan nodded, his smile widening. "Yeah. Like the moon. Shining in the sky brightly. Just like you."

She gasped, her tiny hands flying to her mouth. "Luna... I love it!" She twirled around, her silver curls bouncing, her laughter echoing through the field. "I'm Luna! I'm Luna!"
