Chapter 486 System's Second Ring - 2

"At least it proves we're ready," Kriz offered as they secured the area. "To face the real challenge..."

He didn't need to finish.

They all knew the artromus awaiting them would be different. Those battles wouldn't be won by simple power advantage - they would require all the skill and coordination they'd developed.

The explosion was devastating.

The moment the artromus began to materialize, before they could even fully form, they were caught in a maelstrom of perfectly coordinated attacks. The power of 15 divine spheres, channeled through ten advanced invocation combinations, created a blast that made previous battles seem like child's play.

But they couldn't risk assuming total success. The support team maintained their positions, forty transformed warriors ready to intercept any survivors. Their enhanced senses scanned for any sign of movement through the aftermath of the initial strike.

As the energy dissipated, they could see the results. Most of the artromus had been caught completely off guard, destroyed in that first perfect moment of coordination. But three had somehow survived, their forms already beginning to shift toward cursed metamorphosis.

"Containment!" Selene commanded.

The support team responded instantly, their formations tightening to prevent any possibility of escape. The three surviving artromus found themselves trapped in a web of transformed warriors, each ready to sacrifice themselves if necessary to prevent an escape.

But sacrifice wouldn't be necessary.

The main team was already moving, their divine-enhanced forms closing in with overwhelming power. A cursed artromus might be formidable, might even be able to fight its way through the less trained in the containment team, but against warriors carrying this much divine power...

The first survivor fell to a combined strike from Brok and Kriz, their power simply too much for even an artromus to withstand as they cut through the cores in the thorax and the head in a single swing of each.

The second tried to break through the containment line but found itself caught between Lila and Mei's perfectly coordinated attack.

The third, perhaps sensing its doom, attempted to trigger an explosion. But the charge took precious instants, and the enhanced team had no intention of allowing those.

Five divine-enhanced invocations struck simultaneously. The artromus's transformed state offered no protection against that level of coordinated power. It dissolved like its companions, leaving no chance of warning reaching the queen.

"Perimeter check!" Selene called out. The support team performed their practiced sweep, ensuring no artromus had somehow slipped past their notice.

"Clear!" The reports came in from all sectors. The battle - if it could even be called that - was over.
