The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 55: 55:Hacking[II]

After identifying a vulnerable port, Evan launched a targeted attack, exploiting weaknesses in the server's security protocols. Using techniques like SQL injection and cross-site scripting, he bypassed authentication measures, gaining unauthorized access to their server.

Once inside, Evan navigated through directories, searching for sensitive information where he employed techniques such as privilege escalation to gain higher levels of access, allowing himself to bypass additional security layers.

Now that he had access to Das Enterprise's secured server, Evan turned his attention to the employees' devices. By leveraging social engineering tactics, he crafted convincing phishing emails, enticing unsuspecting employees to click on malicious links or download infected attachments.

Then it was time to wait, fortunately, he didn't need to wait for long. Since the emails were being sent through official channels, people quickly clicked on them.

As each employee fell victim to Evan's carefully crafted attacks, he gained access to their devices, extracting their valuable data and credentials.

However, Evan didn't stop just at that. Now that he was on it, he was going to make it big. For that, he turned his attention towards the telecommunications sites.

He was going to do a telecommunications Breach.

By exploiting vulnerabilities in their telecommunications systems, Evan was able to gain access to phone call recordings by using tools like Signalling System 7 (SS7) exploitation frameworks.

After extracting the desired information, Evan meticulously erased all traces of his intrusion. Using tools like BleachBit to clear logs and delete incriminating data and employing VPNs and Tor to obfuscate his IP address and location, he covered all his tracks.

_____

In the Biswas Enterprise Office.

Darpan sat reading through the stack of paper, though his eyes were looking at the files, his mind was somewhere else.

Behind him, the personal secretary, Mina, massaged his shoulder, padding it softly.

Putting the files down, Darpan asked in frustration.

"Did we get any more information or did that brat try to contact us?"

"No, we don't have any lead," Mina answered and explained further.

"The three people we sent as victims were compensated, and they apologized on social media. They released video footage of how their workers worked and tried to divert people's attention that the victim might have already been ill..."

She paused before muttering with slight hesitation, "But sir, you have other means don't you?"

Hearing this, Darpan leaned back and cast an evil grin.

After pondering for a moment, he took his phone and dialed a number.

After a few moments, the call was picked up.

[Darpan, what's going on? Did you just remember me?] A gleeful voice resonated in Darpan's ears.

But as a civilized person, he couldn't resort to violence or send thugs to kill someone, could he?

Even though he had numerous connections with the underground, he wouldn't use them knowing that this might escalate quickly.

Being a veteran with many connections, if he didn't know how to use tricks, his business might have already been dismantled into dust.

First, he sent a few people to act to divert and destroy their reputations.

He did this with the thought that the man would be ruined by Suri Barret's charges, however, things took a wild turn as he managed to clear his name.

And to make matters worse, Suri Barret spoke highly of the guy, boosting his reputation even further.

So, he pulled his friend Raj for help.

Once Evan agreed and paid the money, Raj would record the video and use government charges to destroy Evan.

If Evan didn't comply, then he would pull strings and make the FSSAI thwart his plans.

For Evan, this was a death trap from which he would never escape but...

Little did Darpan know, the "little mouse" he was talking about had already barged into his own lair.

_____

Though Evan first gained access to everyone inside the target range, he wasn't going to invade everyone's privacy.

First, he would start from the upper level which was Darpan, and if he couldn't find anything necessary from him, then he would crawl his way down to every last piece until he had concluded.

Evan knew that the download had to be discreet. With a fast connection speed of a few Gbps, he set a limit to avoid raising suspicion.

Even knew that Darpan's emails needed to appear normal while they were downloaded, while he sifted through chats and everything, even the deleted chats and logs weren't left behind as Evan retrieved them from the telecom.

Darpan would never have imagined that this small matter would cause Evan to take such a big step. If news of telecom hacks were to spread, many would lose their heads as it could literally cripple the entire infrastructure.

Once he was done, Evan planned to erase any trace from the server's memory.

While the files were downloaded, Evan didn't waste time and exploited an Android vulnerability to access Darpan's phone.

However, he had to keep the download limit slow to avoid overheating and raising suspicion, especially since Darpan might have able people under him since he had many engineering colleges.

The clock was ticking. Evan juggled the downloads, careful not to alert Darpan of his covet activity.

Slowly and steadily, a large amount of flies slowly flowed into his database.
