Chapter 937: Shame
Chapter 937: Shame
Mio Osborne really couldn’t understand. In the eyes of these teachers, was someone like him, who got accepted into Britton University’s Education Department, really less important than just a student?
Teacher Sutton said coldly, "How is it unfair? Even if you’re not a teacher, shouldn’t you apologize for falsely accusing someone?"
"Principal..." Mio Osborne looked at Principal Payne, hoping he would speak on his behalf.
However, Principal Payne had abandoned his usual kindly demeanor and said sternly, "If Teacher Sutton hadn’t said it, I might have almost forgotten. You promised me before you’d apologize to Summer Monroe during the flag-raising ceremony, and you still haven’t done it."
"I..."
"Just right." Principal Payne directly interrupted Mio Osborne, saying, "If you’re also falsely accusing Summer Monroe this time, then we’ll settle both old and new scores. Apologize for accusing Summer Monroe of fighting on campus, as well as the incident at the freshman party—apologize for all three matters."
"Principal!" Mio Osborne said unwillingly, "Do you really want me to apologize at the charity event? Many parents will be there, and if I do that, it will damage the reputation of all the Crestfall University teachers. Is a teacher’s reputation less important than a student’s?"
"When you do something wrong, you should apologize. This has always been the rule, like repaying a debt," Principal Payne said, rubbing his forehead. "Also, you might be confused about something. For a student, a teacher isn’t the most important. On the contrary, students are the most important part of a school. As a teacher, you should set an example for the students. If you make a mistake, you should apologize. There’s no room for negotiation on this matter."
Mio Osborne bit his lip hard, saying, "Fine! If the surveillance check confirms that Summer Monroe didn’t cheat, I’ll apologize to her in front of everyone. But if she did cheat, then I demand you expel her immediately!"
Principal Payne nodded, "Fine. Cheating is a very serious matter, especially in such an important exam. If it’s confirmed that Summer Monroe cheated, I will expel her from the school according to the rules."
Hearing the words "expel," Mio Osborne felt a little relieved.
"Then it’s settled. I hope, Principal, you won’t let Summer off again because of Damian Knight."
Principal Payne frowned, "Watch your words. I have never let Summer off because of Damian Knight. Every time things got minimized, it was because Summer Monroe hadn’t done anything wrong. On the contrary, you’re the one who’s always been in the wrong."
Mio Osborne’s face showed a trace of embarrassment, but he quickly regained his composure, clenching his fists and saying, "Then let’s check the surveillance now."
"Let’s go!" Principal Payne took the lead.
Teacher Sutton followed closely behind.
He had seen the talent Summer Monroe displayed and was certain it was only the tip of the iceberg of her abilities.
So he wanted to personally verify that Summer did not cheat and that she was a rare genius.
Other faculty members, eager to see the truth for themselves, also followed along.
Mio Osborne walked at the back with a grim face.
He believed Summer Monroe must have cheated!
Today was the day the school would expel Summer Monroe.
Ever since the incident with Claire Woodward, every time he saw Summer Monroe, he felt an unspeakable shame. As long as Summer left, this humiliation would never surface again.
Finally, it was about to end.
