"Run, it’s the Black Tide!"

The moment that this cry rang out, everyone immediately dropped everything that they had been holding and ran.

There was only one thing that was on their mind when they heard this and it was to get out of here as soon as possible.

After all, there was no one that would be able to deal with the Black Tide.

The Black Tide was like a wave that swallowed everything in its path.

Any that stood in the face of this Black Tide was doomed to be crushed under it.

Which was why there was no one that was foolish enough to actually face it head on.

There were many that wondered how the Black Tide had even made it this far in, but they really didn’t have time to think about this when the Black Tide was right at their door.

The only thing that they could do now was run as fast as they could.

There was a large hole that was made in the Black Tide the moment that this voice fell and the entirety of the Black Tide itself was pushed back. Once it was pushed back, it seemed like the momentum of the Black Tide was stopped.

However, anyone that looked at the Black Tide closely would be able to see that it wasn’t because it had been hit.

Rather, it was because the black ooze that made up the Black Tide was being wary of something and didn’t want to move forward. It really seemed like whatever had hit it had left a deep impression on the black ooze that made up the Black Tide.

This deep impression stopped the Black Tide from moving forward, almost as if it was flinching.

"It’s a hero."

As soon as this was said, everyone came back to their senses and turned in the direction that this attack came from.

When they saw this person standing there with his fist up, all of them had hope fill their eyes.

After all, this was one of the only things that could face the Black Tide.

A hero that was granted the power of god.

"Is that really all that you have?" The hero seemed disappointed when it saw that the Black Tide had stopped surging forward.

When the people of this village heard this, all of them couldn’t help looking at the hero with a complicated look.

They were depending on the hero to rescue them, but that didn’t mean that they wanted to see this hero taunting the Black Tide like this.

There were a few villagers that started moving away from the Black Tide once more.

However, it seemed that this was in vain as the Black Tide started to spread once more. Only this time, it didn’t seem like the Black Tide was moving forward to attack them.

"It’s spreading out to cover our escape routes."

The voices were filled with despair when they saw this.

Even though there was a hero here, it wasn’t as if it was guaranteed that the hero would win. The power of the Black Tide was something that had plagued all of humanity for a long time now and heroes alone weren’t enough to take down this Black Tide.

They were even more worried since it didn’t seem like the hero was planning on doing anything to stop the Black Tide.

It was almost as if the hero was just waiting for the Black Tide to grow stronger.

"What kind of crazy hero is this?" The villagers all thought to themselves, but they didn’t say it out loud since they were afraid of offending the hero.

Once the Black Tide had completely surrounded the village, there was another change that came over it.

Out of the black ooze that made up the Black Tide, there were these creatures that suddenly took form.

"It’s the Nothings!"

The villagers were filled with fear seeing this.

They had never seen these creatures before, but they had long heard tales of these things.

These creatures were the vanguard of the Black TIde, but they only appeared in Black Tides that were considered among the largest of the Black Tides.

Black Tides of that scale were considered national disasters.

After all, they were more than enough to destroy multiple cities in any nation.

For a Black Tide of this scale to appear here now...

"We’re all dead..."

It was as if the life just drained out of all of them as they saw these creatures appear.

The only one that didn’t panic when they saw this was the hero.

"Now, this is getting interesting."

In fact, it seemed like they were enjoying this entire situation.

Raising his fists, there was this glow that appeared around them as if he was gathering his power for something.

Then when he punched out with those fists, there were large blasts that were released.

These were the same as the blast that had punched a hole in the Black Tide previously.

It seemed like this hero wasn’t only able to release this attack once, it seemed like he was able to release a barrage of these punches.

Seeing them come out in a barrage, the villagers were finally able to recognize this hero.

"It’s Ikki the Puncher."

This was a famous name among the villagers because this was one of the top heroes in this world.

It was just that none of the villagers understood why a hero of this caliber had suddenly shown up in their village.

But then again, it also didn’t make sense that a Black Tide of this level had also appeared in this place.
