Chapter 798: Lea Dutton Is Back
Chapter 798: Lea Dutton Is Back
It’s just that...
When Selena Kensington walked up to Hope Norwood, she paused in astonishment.
Selena gazed incredulously into the car.
A trace of joy suddenly flashed in her eyes.
At this moment, sitting in the front passenger seat was someone Selena couldn’t be more familiar with.
Lea Dutton.
She sat there, still looking the same way Selena remembered.
Seeing Selena’s surprised look towards her, Lea smiled and greeted, "Sister Kensington, long time no see."
Seeing Lea in this manner, Selena suppressed her inner surprise and asked with a joyful expression, "What are you doing here?"
Lea had previously left her position as an assistant because of matters with The Celestial Division, so Selena hadn’t seen her for quite a long time.
During such a length of absence, even though Hope was by her side, Selena couldn’t help but miss her a little.
Lea chuckled, "Things with The Celestial Division are all wrapped up. Compared to that place, I still prefer being by Sister Kensington’s side as an assistant." She finished speaking and blinked, "So, Sister Kensington, do you still need an assistant?"
Seeing Lea appear here, Selena thought of the matters concerning The Celestial Division.
The mole hidden within The Celestial Division was Ethan Linton, and Lea had been busy before, likely because of this matter.
Now that the issue with the mole was settled, The Godsbane Organization had also withdrawn from Aethelgard. Because of this, The Celestial Division had begun to thoroughly screen its internal members one by one.
"You’re no longer busy?"
Selena looked up with a smile in her eyes.
Lea slightly shook her head, "Everything that needed to be done is done, and now I can return to normal life."
Hearing this, Selena smiled slightly, "As long as you’re not busy, you’re welcome anytime."
Seeing Selena agree, Lea also broke into a smile.
Afterwards, Selena took her seat in the back, and Hope returned to the driver’s seat.
Once the car started, Lea began to chatter away.
"Being Sister Kensington’s assistant is still the most comfortable!"
She finished speaking and looked at Selena’s belly, with eyes extraordinarily bright, "Is there a little baby in there? Surely, they’ll be as beautiful as you, Sister!"
Selena chuckled and glanced at her, "It’s not even born yet, and you’re already so sure?"
Lea slightly raised her chin, boasting, "After all, it’s the child of you and Patriarch Norwood; they’re bound to be exceptional!"
She finished, nudging Hope beside her with her elbow, a smile in her eyes, "Hope, don’t you think I’m right?"
Selena was just about to say that Hope might not answer this question.
But the next second, Hope spoke.
She nodded in full support of Lea’s words, "Yes, the Young Lords will certainly be exceptional."
Hearing this from Hope, Selena was slightly surprised.
She didn’t expect someone as aloof as Hope to cooperate like this.
But...
Selena’s eyes shifted back and forth between Hope and Lea.
Hope had very few friends—no, almost none at all.
As a Hidden Guard of the Norwood Family, she only needed to obey the orders of the Norwood direct lineage.
Friends were unfamiliar and luxurious things for them.
Moreover, becoming a Hidden Guard of the Norwood Family indicated that their lives became uncertain.
They wouldn’t know when they might suddenly die, so having any attachments like friends was unsuitable for them.
Yet, as Selena looked at the two people in front of her,
Lea was delightedly chatting away because Hope acknowledged her words.
Hope’s expression was indifferent, seemingly unchanged.
But in speech, she kept cooperating with Lea.
Even her gaze, though focused on the road ahead, often flickered towards Lea.
It seemed Lea had become Hope’s friend.
Still, one was lively while the other was as cold as ice. It was unexpected for them to become friends, really.
Nevertheless, seeing Hope finally making a friend, Selena was happy to see it.
She curled the corners of her lips slightly, leaning against the back seat, watching Lea chat nonstop with Hope.
*
The car quickly arrived at the venue for Stardust’s year-end event.
The grand banquet hall of The Frostfell Hotel.
This was a banquet hall that could accommodate thousands of people.
Previously, many Stardust meetings or events were held in the banquet hall of The Frostfell Hotel.
When Selena got out, she saw a long red carpet stretching from the entrance of The Frostfell Hotel.
On either side of the carpet were the hotel security and behind them lots of media setting up equipment.
Seeing Selena appear, they looked at her with a hint of surprise in their eyes.
Then exchanged glances.
"Even Selena came? This year’s event is no small affair..."
"After getting pregnant, she rarely attends such public events, right? Tsk tsk, seems there’ll be big news this time!"
"I can already guess what tomorrow’s headline will be..."
Several media outlets murmured.
With Selena’s influence and traffic in the entertainment circle, anything casually associated with her could easily make headlines.
Although she wasn’t a top-stream celebrity artist, her presence was on par with those top celebrities.
Because of her work, her looks, and the backing behind her, Selena’s every move was highly watched.
So, as Selena walked onto the red carpet, several media outlets prepared to approach her with cameras and microphones.
But considering that Selena was currently pregnant, it looked quite inconvenient with her belly.
Those media outlets didn’t dare make big moves. Even when using flash photography, they softly took one or two shots and refrained from rapid shuttering.
After all, as things stood, this lady’s identity and status were precious. If anything went wrong with Selena here, they couldn’t afford the consequences.
So, when Selena reached the media, they exchanged looks, and no one dared to ask the first question.
Selena scanned them, understanding from their hesitant expressions.
She raised her eyebrow, "Have I already become outdated? You don’t even want to interview me anymore..."
This statement carried a joking tone. Her humor relaxed the initially hesitant and unsure media members.
One media outlet smiled, "Director Kensington, what do you mean? How could you be outdated!"
The media outlet next to them quickly added, "Yes, Director Kensington, we’re all waiting for you to have the baby and continue producing new work!" This statement was followed by another question.
"Do you have plans for a new drama, Director Kensington?"
Hearing this outlet take the lead, the first media outlet shot them a glare.
As if saying, goodness, you’re quite cunning!
