Chapter 272 The Mysterious Doll's Prophecy
Chapter 272 The Mysterious Doll's Prophecy
After the revelation in the previous chapter, Lily and others learned part of the truth about the Wheel of Time from the time prisoner. The four returned to their original positions, looking at each other, not knowing what would happen next.
"What should we do now?" Rhett frowned and looked at Lily.
"We need to find the true secret of the Wheel of Time." Lily said firmly, "Only in this way can we break the seal and return to the original world."
Just then, the Guardian reappeared, holding a small box in his hand. He smiled and said, "Your next journey is ready. This is a gift for you."
Lily took the box, opened it carefully, and found a delicate little doll inside. The doll had a strange smile on its face and its eyes were shining with mysterious light.
"What is this?" Nana picked up the doll curiously. Suddenly, the doll spoke: "Welcome to the door of destiny. Only a true hero can open it."
Lily looked at the doll in surprise: "It can talk?"
The guardian nodded and said, "This is the guide of the Wheel of Time. It will help you find the right direction. However, please be careful. The words of the doll often have double meanings. You need to understand them carefully."
Lei Te narrowed his eyes: "You mean, this doll might deceive us?"
The guardian smiled and said, "It's not a lie, but a test. You must pass it to truly understand the power of the Wheel of Time and Space."
Lily looked at the doll and took a deep breath: "Okay, we accept the challenge."
The doll suddenly laughed shrilly, and then a beam of light shot out from its eyes, projecting a virtual map. The map marked several different locations, each with a different symbol.
"Are these...mission points?" Arthur asked in surprise.
The doll nodded: "Each mission point has a guardian. You must pass their tests, collect key fragments, and finally synthesize the key to open the door of destiny."
Nana's eyes flashed with excitement: "This feels like a big treasure hunt game!"
Lei Te smiled: "Do we have any other choice?"
Lily shook her head. "We have to give it a try anyway."
So, the four decided to follow the map to the first mission point. They came to a small town shrouded in darkness, where the air was filled with a chilly atmosphere. The houses on both sides of the street looked dilapidated and seemed to collapse at any time.
"This place looks a bit weird." Rhett frowned.
Suddenly, a mysterious man in a cloak appeared in front of them. His voice was low and hoarse: "Welcome to Shadow Town, I am the guardian here."
Lily cheered up: "We are here for a mission."
The mysterious man smiled and said, "The mission is simple. You need to find three treasures in the town. However, please be careful, these treasures are cursed."
Nana asked in surprise: "Curse? What curse?"
The mysterious man shrugged: "Everyone can only get one treasure, otherwise they will encounter misfortune."
Lily nodded: "Okay, we accept the challenge."
The four of them split up to look for treasures. Lily found an ancient cross in an abandoned church. She picked it up carefully and felt a chill coming from her palm.
Rhett found a strange dagger in an antique shop. When he held it in his hand, the dagger suddenly made a sharp sound.
Nana found a tattered mirror in a grocery store. She looked into the mirror and a ghostly image appeared in it.
Arthur discovered an ancient book in an abandoned library, the pages of which were covered with mysterious symbols.
The four of them returned to the mysterious man with the treasure, and the mysterious man nodded with satisfaction: "Very good, you have completed the first task."
"Now, give us the key fragment." Rhett said impatiently.
The mysterious man waved his hand, and a small golden fragment floated into Lily's hand. Lily felt a strong energy, and she knew that this was the first key fragment.
"Where should we go next?" Lily asked.
The mysterious man didn't answer, but just smiled and pointed at the doll. The doll laughed strangely again: "Next stop, Lost Forest."
Lily and the others felt dizzy again, and when they regained consciousness, they found themselves standing in a foggy forest. The trees were tall and their branches were intertwined, like a natural maze.
"It looks like our challenge isn't over yet." Lily whispered.
Nana shuddered. “I hope I don’t encounter anything terrible this time.”
Arthur patted her shoulder. "Don't worry, we will find a way out."
Leiter raised the dagger: "No matter what lies ahead, we must move forward."
The four took a deep breath and stepped into the depths of the Lost Forest. They knew that the real test had just begun. Every step was full of unknowns and dangers, but they still walked forward firmly. Because they believed that as long as they worked together, they would eventually find the true secret of the Wheel of Time and Space.
