192- The Hunt for Outer Being (3)

A swing of a blunt object headed toward Tatsumi. He tilted his head slightly and the blunt object missed by a hair’s breadth.The Outer Being he faced this time was a Rank 5 with blunt limbs that it could swing. Tabitha was channeling her power to Tatsumi, elevating his transcendent base to be a Rank 4 transcendent.

This was one of the supports that Tritis’ group could do. Other than calculating things with their minds, they could also bolster the unit they channeled by using their transcendent energy to achieve a power-up.

Since Tatsumi and his group’s transcendent base was so low, the power-up should be higher but to Tabitha and the others’ surprise, their bolster could only propel them to Rank 4 instead of the usual Rank 6.

‘The bolstering of my transcendent base is so high. So this is what comes after Revolutionary Realm. Form a planetary seed and then sprout out a planet. That’s for Rank 3 transcendent of humanity. Rank 4 involved internal nuclear fusion, making the first star in the astral body, igniting a star.’ Tatsumi thought as he used his transcendent power along with Violet Sun Blade Intent powered by Martial Will.

He slashed seven times and the Outer Being was forced to respond in kind. But the limbs it wielded were suddenly severed as Tatsumi swung his fourth and the fifth swung, aimed at the apparent neck of the Outer Being.

With a slash, the head was severed from the body but Tatsumi slashed the sixth at the head, splitting it into two. Then he saw a small crystal appear after the head was split and swung his seventh.

The crystal was destroyed and the Outer Being then turned to dust, which flowed toward him.

The situation was the same for Ame and Long Wu.

Ame changed her Myriad Manifestation Umbrella to a machine gun powered by transcendent energy and fired a barrage at the Outer Being, who appeared to parry some bullets but was soon overwhelmed by the machine gun fire and turned to dust, flowing to Ame.

Long Wu then finally stabbed the head of the Outer Being along with its crystal inside its head.

And they also became a temporary Rank 4 transcendent due to the buff given by Tritis’ group fighting against Rank 5 Outer Beings, said to be unrivaled in the same rank.

“They…are capable of fighting across ranks too!” One of the Slayer Division that guarded Tritis’ group was astonished. They had assumed that fighting across ranks was common among lower-rank transcendents, but when it came to higher ranks, it became difficult due to the widening gap in power.

“I have to admit that they are a promising race.” Ao Guang said. Even he, as an Oriental Dragon, had to admit that Tatsumi and his group were capable of fighting against higher-rank transcendent even when they became higher-rank.

‘If they can keep that up, then they are truly a peerless existence.’ Ao Guang thought.

Dian was on edge, worrying about the people he brought but at the same time had to watch their progress of development against the Outer Beings of higher rank as a test.

“You all worry me to death, you know that.” Dian said to Tatsumi and his group as they returned from turning the Outer Beings into dust and the dust flowed to the four humans.

“Don’t worry too much, Father God. It is my duty to help you after all you did to help me.” Tatsumi said as if the matter was about repaying one’s kindness with another kindness.

“Although that is true, you must care about yourself. This is important.” Dian stressed out.

“Yes, yes. Of course. But now that I think about it, why do the Outer Being’s remnants contain memories of humans?” Tatsumi asked Dian before he looked around, and the others listened attentively.

“Hmm, I don’t know. Maybe they are the carriers of the information that we process as memories.” Ame suggested her reasoning.

“Or could it be that they are absorbing the humans to be able to have those memories?” Charlene gave her opinion.

“No way, right?” Tatsumi shook his head. He did not know for sure what the Outer Being’s essence was.

At this time, the channeling was stopped because it drained energy fast. So conserving it for important moments became crucial for the whole group.

But Tritis and her group listened to Dian’s group, finding that their reasoning and opinion were good, but even they themselves did not know for sure the essence of the Outer Being.

One thing was for sure: the manifestation above the planet was decreasing at a fast rate.

“The numbers of Outer Beings in this life planet is decreasing at a fast rate.” Ao Guang took notice of this and his eyes narrowed at the distant place.

“Reporting that the number of Outer Beings in an area is decreasing quickly. Suggesting the group go away from this place.” Jeliel reported.

“Well, what are we waiting for? Go quickly inside the mothership!” Tatsumi was the first to run to the hatch of the mothership.

The others snorted before following him. Then the mothership moved away from the planet which had a few numbers of Outer Beings.

As for why Ao Guang and Jeliel reported the situation, it was because the group learned that the Outer Beings would likely reinforce the place soon. If they did not move, they would face a stronger opponent that only Jeliel and Ao Guang’s Slayer Division could take.

Dian and his group did not want to unnecessarily bring the two helpers into trouble. It did not mean they were afraid of trouble, though. That was two different things.

But it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble.

So they left the planet and went to hunt the Outer Beings scattered around the Star Systems. As usual, Charlene saw things and tried to understand the underlying principles behind it so that she could develop a better spaceship for her civilization.

Jeliel begrudgingly agreed to it since this reminded Jeliel of her Creator. Exploring the unknown while learning from everyone. Charlene and her Creator shared this characteristic, which made Jeliel allow things to happen.

Time spent on the mothership was eventful.

For example…

“What’s wrong?” Dian was discussing things with his group about the path of transcendence for humanity as well as the other races in the Federation when Tritis and the others went to them.

“One of you is using the Undead Element for transcendent energy, right?” Tritis asked.

“Yes. What’s wrong…I see.” Dian wanted to ask but then realized that the undead race’s maximum capacity was only so far as Rank 3 for a certain reason.

“Are you asking because Long Wu here has become a Rank 4 transcendent despite his transcendent energy?” Dian asked this instead.

Tritis and almost everyone nodded their head, their eyes filled with genuine curiosity.

“Well, it may be because, despite using the undead element, the transcendent path that the humans take is unique. It allows any race they have encountered to be included in the transcendent path upward and since the undead element is the very first thing my race encountered, they developed it the most.” Dian explained in a manner that even the others could understand.

Ever since he knew that the others could be a proxy for their Planet Master to monitor things here, Dian felt that they were also protecting him from the stronger Outer Beings. So this was a way for him to explain and repay them slightly.

“That means the Undead Race potential needs to be reassessed.” Tritis said as she had expected this from the human race.

They could not only elevate themselves but also the other races alongside them.

“Furthermore, we learn a lot more about the battle on the planet. The space there is reinforced so much so that even a high realm transcendent can battle without much concern for planetary destruction.” Tatsumi said to the group there.

It meant that the battle, which usually could destroy a planet, a Rank 3 transcendent definitely COULD do that but the reinforced space in that planet made it so that the damage was reduced to a mere ordinary slash.

“So I think saying this to you all will be fine. But I don’t know for others, though but the Undead Race in the Federation is reaching Rank 2 quite fast.” Long Wu added.

“Fast promotion…amazing. This is good for them.” Dian patted Long Wu on the shoulder and gave Long Wu and the Undead Race as well as the transcendent with the Necromancer’s Trait, praise.

“Thank you, Father God.” Long Wu chuckled and replied.

“Our effort has not been in vain, Teacher.” Tatsumi said with a smile.

“Yeah, I can see that.” Long Wu’s eyes teared up a bit. He realized that the Undead Race had faced discrimination due to their weak build as well as their potential. But with him providing the transcendent path, the Undead Race had a chance to reach the pinnacle.

“But that will take time.” Dian nodded and then thought about it.

The current Undead Race resided in the Undead Secret Realm so as not to affect life on the planet. But they could be used to help him when the Star Battle commenced or to balance the transcendent energy on the Cerulean Planet.

Furthermore, it still took time for Undead to be promoted to a transcendent status despite being fast. The rich and high-quality undead element made it so that the Undead became stronger and could even mimic part of the human transcendent path.

“The reinforced space…is both a restriction and a way for high-level transcendents to show their power.” Dian also noticed that the planet’s space was reinforced.

The intricate main layer was reinforced by the other layer’s space, creating a stronger space in which the transcendents were both restricted and could act more daringly.

Dian thought that he had managed his planet well, not knowing that there were multiple layers to space. Now that he knew, he needed to reinforce the space of his planets since the transcendents of his civilization had reached Rank 2 and that could already affect large areas of the surface of the planet.

While Dian was deep in thought, his group was talking about the newly mapped transcendent path.

They asked questions.

“What is the path after changing the core while also changing our genes?” one asked.

“To make the core the planetary seed. Just like when we are buffed, it showed us the way forward. The planetary seed will then ultimately bloom into a planet. That is the Rank 3, Planetary Realm.” Tatsumi replied concisely.

“Then after that, what should we do? Should we make another core?” Another asked.

“No, rather, we make the lower dantian condense a star. This is hard to do, yes, since this involves the knowledge about many things but basically, you need to hypercondense the transcendent energy into a star directly. This is the hallmark of Rank 4 Star Realm.” Tatsumi explained.

The way forward had been opened and now all they had to do was walk forward on it.

Then after finishing explaining the technical details, Tatsumi looked at the side where the corridor that connected the bridge to the quarters was opened and Ame and Charlene came in from the automatically opened door.

“There are so much things that I don’t know where to start.” Charlene giggled as if she were in paradise. For someone like her, being inside the mothership and seeing its material and operations should elevate the spaceship of the Federation.

“Hmm.” Ame nodded while closing her eyes. She also gained something from being with Charlene.

“You’re back.” Tatsumi said.

They needed to go away from the entire star system if possible since the Outer Being’s reinforcement could search the entire star system for them so the journey time increased dramatically and Charlene used that time to look around the mothership.

She had seen so many novel operations as well as the way the mothership was built, causing her to be amazed and have some ideas.

Charlene then hugged Tatsumi’s right arm as she said, “Yes, I am back. And I have learned something from the schematics of the mothership as well as its engine.”

Tatsumi sighed. But he could understand her excitement and love for anything new and could potentially revolutionize the entire civilization so he let her be. It was his form of respecting her wishes and choices.

Ame did not want to be left behind, so she hugged Tatsumi’s left arm.

“Oh! Public display of affection.” One of the members of Dian’s group pointed at Tatsumi.

Dian smugly snickered at the sight. He often saw this from Tatsumi’s perspective so seeing it from his own point of view was kind of refreshing.

Long Wu felt melancholic at the sight, he missed his wife and child already.

“Please, this is a public area. You two are too excited right now.” Tatsumi smacked his lips as he said this.

“But we are worried about you. You seemed preoccupied with something since we left the planet. Tell me about it since I know that this is what makes you comfortable.” Charlene said.

“Hmm? Preoccupied? Me?” Tatsumi did not know for sure but he had a certain thought about everything: the Frontline, the Outer Beings as well as the karma between them and the human race. Although he tried to conceal it, Charlene was smart enough to pick up his state of mind quickly.

“Right. If you don’t want to talk about it, then let us be like this. Isn’t that fine?” Ame said.

“It is just that, I am afraid that this is the secret of the Outer Being and letting you know it will inflict karma upon you. I just don’t know whether you can shoulder the burden or not.” Tatsumi breathed in and out before he opened his mouth.

The bearer of responsibility fell to Tatsumi. He even realized that the Afterlife Nafs was restricted from even knowing what he knew so he definitely faced a choice whether to tell others or not. But until he faced confirmation and verification, he would not even tell anyone about what he knew regarding the Outer Being.

Dian seemed to realize what was going on, as he knew what Tatsumi was worried about. He also sealed his mouth shut to respect the choice Tatsumi had made.

Charlene and Ame’s eyes focused on Tatsumi’s eyes and expression. This time, they found out that he was serious and that meant he would remain silent until the right time arrived.

“So you won’t tell us yet.” Charlene could understand Tatsumi’s decision, though. Until the right time, he would not even mention this to anyone, even to the Afterlife people.

“But when the time comes, please tell us properly.” Ame said with a soft voice.

Tatsumi nodded. He had planned that already the moment he felt that he had grasped some kind of secret.

Tritis also noticed this and could not even derive things related to the human race. Worse, her expression turned grim since she could not also see through some things that were previously visible to her.

“I can’t seem to see things like before.” Even her best individual in her race, Tabitha, also faced the same problem.

“So it seems to be truly the case.” Tritis said with a resigned tone.

“What happened, Your Excellency?” Jeliel and Ao Guang got closer to Tritis and asked since they saw the change in expression of Tritis and her group.

“I can’t seem to see things related to the human race and the Outer Being. I just…don’t know whether it is a good case or not.” Tritis explained.

“Is that the case?” Ao Guang knew that Tritis was the deity of the race that was the best at divination but to think that they could not see through the future of the human race and the Outer Being now that the variable called humans was added in.

“Since the future is undetermined, then just make one that suits you.” Dian said calmly.

Tritis then looked at Dian, looked at his eyes and expression. Dian often told himself about his ability to see the future and he concluded that he could not control everything according to his will. Sometimes the creatures made their own choices, which caused unpredictability but the result showed that it was sometimes better than his planned result.

After interfering slightly with Tatsumi’s future, Dian basically did not interfere; instead, it was Charlene and the others who affected him, causing change which were beneficial.

From there, he learned that minimal interference was the best thing to do. Meaning, he should only intervene if it caused too many problems for his civilization. Other than that, he should not interfere.

“Make the one that suits me? That’s easier said than done.” Tritis replied.

“Nobody said it was easy. But I learned from the races under me that when there is a will, there is a way. Perhaps not today but I believe that the answer to the question you hold now will be answered in the future.” Dian explained.

Tritis blinked before she nodded. That was a surprisingly decent answer. Although the matter of the future of the human race and the Outer Beings was hard to see but it did not mean everything was lost. Instead, there was a chance that they could finally win the battle against the Outer Being.

While Dian and Tritis were communicating with each other, Tatsumi patted Charlene and Ame on the head before letting them go.

“Listen to me. When there is a new battle, please check our body condition. We are developing well enough that increasing our heavenstage in this place is a certainty. I have reached the sixth heavenstage of the Revolutionary Realm so fast which usually takes about a few years.” Tatsumi said to Charlene.

“Check your strength when you battle against another Outer Being. I want to make sure that this strength that we have is truly ours.” Tatsumi said to Ame.

Charlene and Ame nodded with a serious expression, contemplating his words.
