Chapter 189 Revelation!!

"Leave us alone!!" Queen ordered Selena and Lucas, her eyes fixed on her bangle.

Lucas and Selena looked at each other and then at the queen before they decided to follow their queen's order.

Though, they were curious about the topic that the queen and Rae would be discussing. It was their first time meeting each other, as far as both of them knew.

Inside the room, only the queen and Rae were standing facing each other. The queen seemed little hesitant to speak.

"I assume you know something?" Rae said as he signalled for the queen to seat with him. He sat back on the sofa that he had been waiting on.

'At this point, she is just deciding between her options, scared of the consequences that the decision might bring.' Rae thought as he glanced at the figure of queen, her fingers fiddling.

"Did that assumption make you talk with me in a casual manner?" Finally, the queen decided to reply in casual manner. As if she had given up on her life, she changed her demeanor and decided to talk comfortably with Rae.

Though, her body was still not completely relaxed under Rae's meticulous eyes.

Rae smiled after hearing the question about etiquettes from the queen. It was her attempt to set up the power dynamic and get comfortable. He just nodded with a smile at her question, his gesture would have offended anyone else but not the queen.

Rae wanted her to continue answering his question. The sudden stiffening of her body, her hesitant attitude, and her decision to engage in a secret conversation with him. All of them pointed at a certain conclusion.

"Yes, I do know about your identity." The queen nodded, finally answering the question that the young man in front of him had been curious about all along.

She looked at Rae's facial expressions, hoping to get some feedback from his expression. Unfortunately, it was not possible for her to read Rae's expression.

"My identity? Hmmm" Rae smiled nonchalantly, he was somewhat expecting this answer after seeing the queen's decision to engage in a private conversation with him.

It would not have been suspicious for Rae but the queen had an artifact on her wrist, a bangle that seemed to be lighting up slightly and radiating heat.

And another important point, the queen had no reason to be that hesitant and scared when communicating with just a student.

"Is it that bangle like artifact in your hand? That one seems to be heating up after you have entered here." Rae glanced at queen's face which seemed to be relaxed after his nonchalant reaction to the revelation.

"I am all ears." Rae smiled as he humoured the queen, wanting to listen to her words. Though, he already had quite the idea of the deal that was to come.

"The person of your kind..." Queen began, though she was stopped mid sentence by Rae's words.

"Just call him demon! You don't need to be so discrete." Rae exhaled as he urged the queen to be precise with her words. She was wasting lots of time, trying to be polite, and Rae did not want to delay.

"The demon has the people from the king's faction under his control, and most probably the king too!" Queen revealed another important point.

"That's a surprising turn of events. Is that the reason behind the clash between you and the king's faction?" Rae asked, hoping for more details.

"It is. I want you to remove him from the kingdom and help me to obtain the kingdom's control." Finally, she showed her intentions. She wanted the kingdom to herself.

"In return, I promise you anything that you would want within the kingdom that is under my control." She offered.

"Did you forget about the king's protection? His predecessors rumoured to be in level five? Would they allow this?" Rae asked curiously, hoping that she would answer honestly.

"If they existed then the king would not have fallen under someone else's control. As long as it's not something very drastic, they won't even come out and that is if they really exist." Queen laughed off, not at all minding Rae's question.

"Not drastic. Alright. I accept the deal." Rae was happy to accept the proposal. What could be better than this?

"What do you want in return then?" Queen asked, her tone hesitant.

"In return...." Rae hesitated. He wanted the obvious. What could he want from the queen? Her, of course

"Men really are same, be it humans or demons." Queen laughed, though she did not reject Rae's deal.

"Alright then, I would let you do it but only after the successful change of regime." Queen accepted the deal. She was willing to give up her body, not that she had much of a choice in front of Rae.

In the different part of the same palace, king's personal chamber.

"Serena... I have heard about the previous Earl's predicament." The king said to Serena with great enthusiasm.

"I feel saddened by the death of one of my very capable subordinates. But you do not need to worry, I would help you in place of Scheta." As the king said this, he proceeded to pay Serena with a smile, a perverted smile.

"You do not need to feel saddened by the death. I would find the culprit behind this and bring justice to you." The king said to reassure Serena.

"Yes my lord. I thank you for the trouble." Serena replied with a forced smile. She had arrived, invited to the royal palace by the king and she was aware of the reason behind this.
