Mr. Xu laughed heartily, "I guess Mom gave us more than half of the meat to take back."
A wild chicken doesn't have much meat; it's different from domestically kept ones that could weigh five or six pounds if raised well.
In the wild, a wild chicken relies on its wings; if it got fat, how could it fly? A female wild chicken, at most, would weigh two pounds, usually just a bit over one pound.
"Come on, eat up quickly, don't delay going to work after the meal," Mrs. Xu urged.
