Chapter 284 Is It Wrong to Tease and Have Fun?

James and Ethan exchanged glances, and then both of them sighed in frustration before heading downstairs to join the two friends that had left before.

When they got there, they saw that Jack and Nathan were sitting on a large sofa that was placed inside the yacht's spacious lounge. It was decorated with modern furnishings and luxurious amenities, giving off an air of luxury and relaxation. But that didn't ease the tension between them, as Jack was still furious and was fuming in anger as Nathan tried to calm him down.

As soon as the two entered, Nathan immediately asked, "Are you okay, Ethan?"

"Yeah, I'm fine now... Thanks for asking," He replied, rubbing his neck where Lucifer's fingers dug into his skin earlier. It was still painful to touch it, but he had already recovered from the shock of being choked like that, so it wasn't that bad anymore. Then he sighed and sat next to Nathan on the couch while James joined them shortly afterward.

Jack looked at Ethan with an angry expression and said, "Damn it! We should have kicked his ass instead of letting him get away with this! Who does he think he is to assault you like that?! Fucking piece of shit."

However, before either of the three could respond to what Jack had said, a loud, feminine voice came from the entrance, catching their attention.

"And what? Ruin the already damaged mood even further?" Zoe asked as she made her way into the room and approached the group of young men sitting there. She had seen everything that had just happened between Lucifer and her friends, and she couldn't believe they were being so stupid.

When she saw that they were paying attention to her, she continued. "I guess you guys were too stuck up to notice Lucifer and Madison exchanging whispers before he groped her, but I saw it. They planned that little scene, and that is why it doesn't make any sense to be mad about something that was just an innocent joke."

The revelation left them shocked, as none of them had noticed the couple's interaction beforehand. "What the hell? You mean they did that just to mess with us?" Ethan exclaimed, unable to wrap his mind around the idea that Madison would go along with Lucifer's antics and let herself get felt up by him.

"Exactly," Zoe replied as she nodded her head, affirming his question.

But she didn't stop there and continued further while gesturing at him with her hands. "And that is also why I can understand Lucifer's reaction when you confronted him. You were being a jealous asshole, and that made you look pathetic, to be honest. Just because you were planning to get together with Maddie doesn't mean you have the right to act like a dick toward anyone she wants to spend time with. She is her own person and can do whatever she pleases. Yet here you were, getting angry and cursing at Lucifer for being intimate with her."

Zoe's statement hit home for Ethan. His expression turned pale, and he became speechless. He hadn't realized how bad his actions had been. All he knew at the time was that he was jealous, and that emotion made him do something stupid.

"And you," Zoe said as she looked toward Nathan, pointing at him and glaring into his eyes with an angry look.

"What did I do, babe?" Nathan asked nervously. He didn't know why his girlfriend was mad at him. As far as he could tell, he was the least involved in the whole situation. But seeing the way she looked at him, he began to worry about what he might have done to make her angry.
