"i'm certain that you've already heard that the third stage this time will be a trial streaming event. does anyone want to guess what that implies?"

triton observed the players as he directed his question, not really expecting anyone to be able to guess correctly. even he couldn't have guessed if he wasn't assigned as a guide for this stage, after all.nôv(el)b\\jnn

the regressor lazily looked away, seemingly bored.

"we can't be streaming to the constellations since we aren't even bronze rank yet. so, are we streaming for humans?" a voice rose from the back, catching everyone's attention.

it came from a young man who stood right next to lee taehyung.

"and you are...?"

triton looked at the young man, who was dressed in strange clothes.

they reminded him of the ancient clothes that he had read so much about because of the ordinary materials they were made from. even the beggars didn't wear such clothes in the current era.

"oh sorry, i am kim seojin."

"i see. so you are the top ranker for the time being. interesting. but i have never heard your name before. who is your sponsor, if i may ask?"

"i don't believe you need to know that. it doesn't matter who my sponsor is, as they aren't the ones participating."

triton was quite surprised at the response. most people would have tried to get close to him.

even though he said he couldn't help them directly, he was still a guide in this stage and could make or break them with the information he shared.

even if it wasn't about the tutorial, he was still a hold rank player. he was a saviour of humanity, with a lot of constellations watching over him.

"there is no need to laugh!"

triton glared at the blank space before him, feeling irritated.

in an instant, he was flooded with messages from the constellations that were following him, all of them laughing at him.

"young man, even if it doesn't concern me, but is that really how you should talk to your elders?"

he passed his frustration on to kim seojin.

kim seojin was thinking about his next course of action when the regressor chimed in.

"i will go ahead. you can play catchup when you are done getting the explanation."

he stepped out of the group and started walking towards the city, without even bothering about the explanation.

"is he getting angry for me?" kim seojin scratched the back of his head. "i'm probably overthinking. it must be because he already went through this and doesn't need guidance."

triton watched lee taehyung leave.

"is that the second ranked player in the tutorial? it seems the top ranks are being held by quite a few overconfident people who think too highly of themselves."

"they will soon find out how useless their confidence is."

a lot of players were laughing at lee taehyung and kim seojin for not knowing their place.

they were already wondering how they could match their scores when they had such a large lead. but thanks to their overconfidence, they were more or less over already.

"such fools. the stages are different from last time. what can they even do without information? why did they even think we were given a guide? just for fun?!"

"i can see who the real fools are." kim seojin reported before he started chasing after the regressor.

for these people, the guide was knowledgeable and could help them. but kim seojin knew that the true guide in his life was the regressor.

even triton didn't know what was going to happen in the future. but the regressor was different. the regressor had seen the end of the world.

if he wanted to survive in this world, that regressor was the key.

"fools."

triton watched the two players who had left the group. the messages to him kept increasing, most of his viewers already taking interest in the two players thanks to their attitude.

before they could even start their streams, lee taehyung and kim seojin had already become popular amongst triton's viewers.

many of the constellations were already looking forward to the future where they could watch over these two players.

they had a feeling that these two could show them something that they had never seen before.
