Chapter 383: Shocking Change

The moment that Michael asked her that question, Kate did not respond. Instead, she gazed towards Robin, as if she was contemplating about something.

Eventually, she made a decision. With a quick steps, she approached Robin, who was currently frozen in place, not sure about what to do.

The moment that she arrived in front of him, she struck at his face. She held back, otherwise, that one punch would have been enough to be able to cause him to have a concussion.

At this point, she had limited her strength to the level of an ordinary person. Therefore, despite the heavy blows that he was receiving, Robin only stumbled backwards.

Before he could even register anything, several blows had already landed on him, making him feel dizzy.

He felt extreme pain coming from the areas that Kate had struck him, and for a moment, he tried to defend himself.

Even though he was a hedonist, he had trained, and was a little skilled when it came to fighting. But at this moment, he was completely outmatched by Kate.

Kate did not continue attacking him, as she decided to let him go. All this while, she had not really killed anyone, even during the time that she was blinded by anger.

Even though she believed that Michael would be able to deal with the aftermath of this incident, she did not want to make things ugly. After all, this was a public place, and no matter how much connections Michael had, with the group of people involved, there was a possibility that things might leak out.

So, after making sure that she had given Robin a good beating, she looked towards Carol and asked, "Carol, do you have a grudge against that guy? If you want, you can go ahead and beat him and vent all the frustrations that you may have."

Upon hearing Kate’s question, Carol came back to her senses. She quickly shook her head as she said, "There is no need, it seems that he has already been punished."

In real sense, Kate understood that before today, Julius had not done anything that exceeded her bottom line. Yeah, he continuously pestered her, but it was mostly just to give her gifts.

Apart from today, he had never tried to force her to do anything. Otherwise, with the fact that his family was from the capital, it should have been much easy for him to force her.

She had heard of situations where those young masters from big families used underhanded tricks in order to get what they wanted. And of course, because of the connections that they had, it was impossible to hold them accountable.

As she was speaking, she gazed towards Julius, who was still groaning while clutching several parts of his body in pain. Clearly, the collision between him and the bodyguard who had been launched his way had caused him quite some damage.

As long as he did not attempt to do anything to her, she had no any intention of tangling with him. Additionally, she thought, this might be a chance for her to take action against him, for trying to force her.

But this did not mean that she had the capability of doing it. For now, she might be able to do it because of Michael and Kate. But what about later, when she was alone? It was not as if she would always be together with Michael and Kate.

Moreover, they had already done her quite some favors. At this point, she understood, if she really had come alone to this auction, that guy might have forced her.

Since Carol had no any intention of taking action against Julius, Kate simply shrugged at that. Then, she looked at Michael and said that she was ready to depart.

Michael immediately nodded. Thereafter, he used the memory altering device, selecting all the individuals in the surrounding area, those that had been watching what was happening here.

Immediately after that, he confirmed that their memories should be altered. The moment that he made the confirmation, on the screen of the device, several options appeared.

And it was kind of surprising, because on the screen, the options provided clearly were related to the incident that had just happened here.

Michael quickly edited the information that was on the screen, so that the memories of these people would be altered. It would be that they had seen Kate demonstrating incredible combat prowess.

But of course, it would be nothing out of the ordinary, just a skilled fighter. That way, the issue of her being a mutant would never be mentioned.

As for the cameras, the footage that they had recorded, including those that had been recording them on their phones, Onyx edited them. Now, those footages simply showed the same thing that had would appear in their minds, the moment that Michael used the memory altering device.

After Michael was done with the editing, he confirmed for the memories to be altered. All of this was done within just a minute.

Kate watched from the side, standing together with Carol. The two ladies were not sure about what Michael was doing, but they thought, maybe he was contacting someone to deal with the aftermath of this incident.

"I think you are right. After all, being beaten like this in public, it is not that much different from an insult to the Harrison family."

"Kate, you are so amazing. Could I join you on some occasions for training? I will create some time on my schedule, so that I can be as good as you." Carol asked, her eyes filled with anticipation.

For a moment, Kate was not sure about how to respond. Clearly, she realized that something had changed.

Though, it did not take her long to realize what might have happened. With her knowing about the existence of mutants, and the different abilities that they possessed, she thought of a possibility.

Could it be possible that there was someone who had altered the memories of the people around her? And because all these people were not mutants, their memories had been altered, while hers remained intact?

As she thought about this, she looked at Michael, as if she was seeking for confirmation. Michael simply nodded, which left her amazed.

Though, there was a question that was in her mind. Was this an ability that Michael possessed, or was it possible that there is someone who was protecting him from the shadows?

After all, Michael’s background wasn’t small. It wasn’t too much to ask, for his uncle to have arranged for someone to be in charge of his security, right?

Carol on the other hand, upon seeing that Kate was looking at Michael, as if seeking for his opinion, she felt a little nervous. But when he nodded, she felt excited.

It was also at this point that Kate realized that she had not answered Carol. So, she responded, "No problem, you can join me. I will teach you all that I know. But you should know, training in combat is never easy. You should be prepared to suffer."

"It doesn’t matter the hardship that is involved. I will give it my all, because I understand that in order to be able to gain something, effort and sacrifices are needed." Carol responded as she quickly nodded her head.

"Okay, ignore everything else. Let’s leave. We have been here long enough." Michael stated as a led the way towards the elevator.
