I Only Tame Dragons

Chapter 88 The Crystal Card Invitation

Chapter 88 The Crystal Card Invitation

There was no room for pleasantries. Horizon knew better than to waste this man's time.

Without a word, he moved toward the intricate, glowing magic circle etched into the stone floor, carefully placing the first of his items down.

The [Vorpal Blades] —gleaming dual swords of Iron Tier-5 to 7, sharp enough to slice through even the toughest beasts of the wild.

As he set them down, the magic circle pulsed faintly, as if acknowledging their power.

Next, Horizon laid out the [Titan's Grasp Gauntlets], massive armored gloves crafted from the bones of a slain beast. Forged in enchanted flames, they increased the wearer's strength exponentially.

The gauntlets radiated a faint red glow, the energy coursing through them like the pulse of a slumbering giant.

Then came the [Aetheric Breastplate], a tier-9 Iron armor, its surface rippling with a faint iron sheen. This was no ordinary piece of armor—woven from enchanted metals, it not only offered unmatched protection but could absorb incoming magical attacks and convert them into temporary energy shields, turning the tide of any battle.

Finally, Horizon placed down the [Shadowstep Boots]. Made from rare, darkened leather, these boots allowed their wearer to move with near-invisibility, perfect for stealth and swift strikes. They granted the user a short burst of speed, making them almost impossible to track.

As each item touched the magic circle, the runes flared to life, casting an eerie glow around the room.

Bartholomew's eyes, though still, gleamed with the unmistakable light of someone who had seen countless treasures pass through his hands.

"Interesting collection," Bartholomew muttered, his fingers drumming on the desk. He leaned forward slightly, inspecting the items with the faintest flicker of intrigue. "High Iron-tier, some with unique enhancements. You've been busy, haven't you?"

Horizon said nothing, waiting for the verdict.

"Honestly, we don't usually deal in Iron-tier equipment," Bartholomew began, his tone dry as he glanced over the items laid before him. "But, given the competition and the current shortage, we'll make an exception. Every piece of equipment counts right now."

Horizon raised an eyebrow. "So, are you going to take them all?"

Bartholomew sighed, inspecting the blades and gauntlets once more. "They're well-made, sure, but not exceptional. However, we'll accept them into our auction. Just keep in mind—we now charge a 5% fee on each item sold."

"That works for me," Horizon replied with a shrug.

"Good, I'll prepare the papers."

Bartholomew turned to gather the necessary documents, but before he could leave his desk, Horizon cleared his throat. "Wait, I'm not done yet. I've got more to sell."

The appraiser paused, though his interest was minimal. "More?" he said, his tone betraying his lack of enthusiasm. After all, the first batch hadn't been anything special—standard Iron-tier equipment that, while useful, wasn't enough to impress a master like him.

Bartholomew was, after all, the premier appraiser in all of Crownjade Woods. Even the royal family and high-ranking nobles sought his expertise, showing him a level of respect few others in his position received. He had seen it all—legendary swords imbued with ancient power, rare relics from lost civilizations, treasures buried deep in the coffers of kings.

It was only then that Bartholomew realized what was happening.

Horizon wasn't just an ordinary forger. No—he was someone extraordinary. Perhaps, he's someone who had reached the elusive [Master] level of craftsmanship.

To create a weapon of such foreign design, and even have some special effects, was no small feat.

Bartholomew, who had seen countless legendary items pass through his hands, felt a rare chill run down his spine.

This was no ordinary blade. Its aura alone sent a tremor through the air, like a whisper of ancient battles fought by dragons and gods. And it was only in the Silver-tier! Imagine what a Gold-tier would be!

For the first time in years, the seasoned appraiser found himself speechless. The Dragonkin Blade in front of him wasn't just a weapon—it was a masterpiece, a symbol of the impossible.

It was even more advance than most Gold-tier weapon he saw in the past.

And Horizon? He wasn't just a forger. He was a force.

"Where . . . where did you get this?" Bartholomew's voice was tight as he inspected the weapon, disbelief creeping across his features. "Did you craft it yourself? Some kind of master forger, are you?

And yet, I've never heard of you."

Horizon's lips curled into a faint, knowing smile. "Let's just say that I've been to places that no one threads," he replied, his tone casual.

Bartholomew straightened, regaining some of his composure, but the glint of excitement in his eyes remained. "This is a High Silver-tier weapon, bordering on Gold. This . . . this could draw the attention of even the royals."

"I hope so."

Bartholomew was silent for a moment, still marveling at the Drakhan gear before him. When he finally spoke, his voice carried a new weight of respect.

"For these? I'll waive the fee entirely. In fact, I'll make sure its the centerpiece of the auction."

Horizon smiled. "Really?"

Bartholomew gave a respectful nod. "Master Forger Horizon, I do hope we can conduct more business in the future."

With that, he produced a sleek, radiant crystal card, its surface shimmering with intricate designs.

"This is a gesture of goodwill—our VVIP card, reserved only for the most esteemed figures in Eternia. With this card, you have unrestricted access to the Auction House, and what's more, you'll receive a 10% discount on all purchases within Crownjade Woods."

Horizon, not bothering to correct him on the "Master Forger" title, accepted the card with a simple nod of gratitude.
