northern squinted his eyes at the girl.

'what is she saying?'

there was a simple way to find out what the girl meant. without further ado, northern took a peek into the girl's soul.

[profile]

name: [josie airesis]

true name: [the titan's reckoning]

attributes: [titan's resilience]

soul rank: [nomad]

soul core saturation: [low]

talent: [titan's wrath]

talent class: [ex]

talent ability: [colossal force], [earthbreaker]

titan's resilience: [even when gravely injured, the user can keep fighting. the more injured they become, the more their strength increases, but at the cost of shortening their lifespan with each extreme effort.]

colossal force: [the user's physical strength is greatly amplified, allowing them to shatter stone, uproot massive trees, and knock back enemies with devastating force. every punch or stomp creates shockwaves that ripple through the environment.]

earthbreaker: [the user slams the ground with immense force, causing the earth to quake violently. this ability can split the ground, destabilize structures, and create massive craters, making it ideal for controlling large battlefields.]

'a strength-based ability... and ex?'

northern had never before come across an ex-classed ability.

'there's no doubt about it. she's the strongest person in the school.'

emphasis on strength... except that she was always here in the hospital each time she attempted to use her own ability.

josie frowned. "what? why are you looking at me like that? do you have a death wish?"

a cocky grin climbed northern's face.

he turned away to leave, but aster's voice halted his steps.

"please wait."

the chatterbox's tone sounded almost like a cry.

northern stopped right as he was about to open the door and turned around.

"what is wrong?" he asked plainly.

aster looked down, scratching his nails subtly and looking away.

"i was just thinking... you know, there was a prize for the duel-the disciplinary committee leader position. i was thinking, since you were the main reason i won it... how about you take it? i don't really care for it."

northern tilted his head back, a little taken aback. his eyes stayed on the chatterbox for a few beats, then he smiled and said:

"it's fine, ellis... you won it, so you deserve to be its owner."

"uhm? who is ellis?"

northern blinked. "ellis? how did you know the name?"

aster glanced at josie as he responded, looking back at northern.

"i'm pretty sure you just said ellis instead of my name."

northern's brows creased.

"i did?"

"yes, you did, frat boy. how old are you? ninety?"

"ah. that must have been a mistake. you just remind me of a very bothersome friend, that's

all. what i mean is, you won the position, so you should be there."

aster gritted his teeth, hesitating for a while. his voice finally came through.

"but how do i protect the office? what if someone else invokes the white law?" "don't worry, the white law can only be invoked once in a year, and there have to be certain conditions surrounding it. dissatisfaction with the office execution of problems regarding a certain matter, and only those involved can invoke it without any issues. you at least have one year to graduate, so you have nothing to lose."

aster nodded as he thought about it.

"you are indeed right. this is a great boon. besides, imagine adding it to my cv that i served as a disciplinary committee leader-every citadel will be looking to have me!" northern smiled. "i'm glad i was of help. i will be seeing you and the other starchasers later." northern bade his final farewell, sent a glance josie's way, and stepped out.
