Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan

Chapter 394 - 49: The God of All Machines ’Cancer’, the Unfathomable Cosmic Game

Chapter 394 - 49: The God of All Machines ’Cancer’, the Unfathomable Cosmic Game

A man was suspended in mid-air, entangled in a mass of cables.

He gazed at Cheng Hua, his expression a mixture of envy and admiration.

"And you are?"

Cheng Hua asked with hesitation, looking at the man.

"Mr. Cheng Hua, the gentleman before you is none other than the president of our Giant Technology Company! Mr. Hasting Cole!"

The old man who had guided him here was the first to speak, smiling at Cheng Hua as he made the introduction.

’So he’s the president of the company!’

"So, President Hasting, does this mean you’ve decided to personally resolve all my confusion?"

Truth be told, along the way, Cheng Hua had appeared silent, neither asking any questions nor taking any action.

But in truth, with the aid of his True Game "plugin," Cheng Hua had already managed to get a grasp on his current state.

Although his connection to the Sinful God’s Divine Body had been forcibly severed, that wasn’t enough to stop Cheng Hua.

Because Cheng Hua still had the True Game’s support, if he wanted to, he could summon the Sinful God’s Divine Body in an instant, just like a Player from Blue Star, and complete his first experience in the fused form.

But if he really did that...

He wasn’t sure if this mysterious president before him would survive.

But this Eco-City would undoubtedly be destroyed!

So, now that he had a few trump cards up his sleeve, Cheng Hua dropped the meek and subservient act.

’Sometimes, it’s important to seize the initiative.’

Cheng Hua looked directly at Hasting Cole.

His tone was no longer fearful, but calm.

At that moment, Hasting Cole was also scrutinizing Cheng Hua.

’A Commoner from the Outer Ecological District with no background.’

’A twenty-year-old human who had unexpectedly awakened as an Ascender.’

’And he had managed to obtain the favor of a supreme existence on his very first contact with the Cosmic Game.’

’He had directly received a Divine Favor that countless beings—one that even Hasting Cole himself—envied.’

Hasting Cole didn’t know if Universal Game Agents in other worlds had ever encountered such a thing.

But on Cangxing, at least, Cheng Hua was the very first such exception.

So, from the moment he saw Cheng Hua’s file, the president of Giant Technology was utterly stunned.

Hasting knew that the file on Cheng Hua couldn’t possibly be fake,

but that didn’t mean the Cheng Hua of today was the same person from the past.

’In a world full of unknowns, what was impossible?’

The fact that Cheng Hua could obtain the favor of the God of All Machines on his first contact with the Cosmic Game, and then successfully complete the process of gestating the Sinful God, made one thing obvious: as the chosen one, Cheng Hua’s Spiritual Power had to be terrifyingly immense!

If his Spiritual Power wasn’t that immense, Cheng Hua would likely already be a "dead man."

He wouldn’t have even been able to fully materialize the Sinful God’s Divine Body in Cangxing’s orbit.

Therefore, from the very start, Hasting Cole had never considered Cheng Hua to be an ordinary person.

Cheng Hua’s true origins weren’t important.

What was important was that the moment Cheng Hua achieved the status of the Sinful God, he, as an Ascender, had been recognized by the Cosmic Game as a major accomplishment for the "Giant Technology Business Point."

Because of this, just moments ago...

Hasting Cole had successfully elevated "Giant Technology" from a mere game business point to a "distributor" with distribution rights!

The benefits from this were already immense!

To put it another way, if Hasting Cole wanted to leave this world right now, he could go directly to the headquarters of the "Cosmic Game" and assume a position there.

As for where the Cosmic Game’s headquarters was located, no one knew.

After all, on Cangxing, it wasn’t just Hasting Cole who was ignorant of the Cosmic Game’s origins; it was likely that none of the other hundred or so Eco-Cities, large or small, knew either.

But there was one thing Hasting Cole did know.

Namely, that the mastermind responsible for creating Cangxing’s current, apocalyptic landscape had long since left the planet to take up a post at the Cosmic Game’s headquarters.

After this mastermind left, their subordinates—a team composed of many former high-level global officials and major corporate leaders, who could also be called followers of an Evil God—were the ones who established the hundred or so Eco-Cities now scattered across the globe.

Therefore, there was no doubt that if Hasting Cole could secure a position at the Cosmic Game’s headquarters, the rewards he would receive would be beyond imagination.

To put it another way, if he were willing, Hasting Cole could, in fact, immediately gain the qualifications to gestate a Sinful God himself.

But Hasting Cole knew that not just anyone could handle becoming a Sinful God.

Besides, Hasting Cole had no desire to become a hideous Sinful God.

If he had a choice, Hasting Cole hoped to become a somewhat more normal-looking Deity.

And the Cosmic Game certainly had such Deities to offer!

After all, according to the Cosmic Game’s "background lore," the "God of All Machines" was not the only great being.

There were also the "Mother of All Things" and the "God of Thousand Faces."

But make no mistake, not a single one of these three great beings could be considered benevolent.

However, none of that had anything to do with Hasting Cole.

After all, the world had started to fall apart long ago, ever since Cangxing became one of the "Cosmic Game’s" marketing points.

Ultimately, the only reason so many Commoners were still alive was because of the Eco-Cities.

In fact, the very existence of the Eco-Cities was all for the sake of allowing this planet to cultivate sufficiently powerful Ascenders.

Ascenders like the Sinful God that Cheng Hua had become.

A Sinful God wasn’t created from nothing.

Nor was it simply manufactured by the so-called God of All Machines using his own Power.

Ultimately, the God of All Machines only provided a mass of flesh and blood.

How far that mass of flesh and blood could develop depended entirely on the Ascender’s own "Potential."

All Ascenders underwent an invisible evaluation by the system when they first entered the Cosmic Game.

The main purpose of this evaluation was to determine which great being the Ascender was best suited to become a follower or favored one of.

Afterward, the three great beings would bestow a portion of their Power.

The strength of the "game character" an Ascender could first manifest, relying on the bestowed Power and some sort of aptitude test, was completely dependent on their own personal destiny.

Moreover, the initial game experience for nearly every other Ascender on Cangxing was nothing like Cheng Hua’s.

Every single Ascender on Cangxing, without exception, initially obtained a "game character" of very limited strength.

It was just like the initial beta test of the True Game, or even its current model: no Player’s starting point was ever too high.

Although the Cosmic Game was different from the True Game, and even had a huge gap between the upper and lower limits of its starting points, one thing remained the same!

Namely, whoever had the greatest utility value would receive the lion’s share of the resources.

Just like Cheng Hua.

Because Cheng Hua was a human from Blue Star, even though he had only transmigrated by soul, his Spiritual Core contained an invisible, intangible mark as a part of Blue Star’s ecosystem and a member of the Mana Will.

Under normal circumstances, if someone like Cheng Hua with this faint mark were to get lost, it certainly wouldn’t be enough to attract the attention of the Blue Star’s Mana Will, let alone the True Game.

But if an external force were to trigger this mark, or even attempt to use it to anchor Blue Star, then it would definitely be discovered by the "True Game," which was far more sensitive—one might even say, a kindred entity.

And that’s what happened.

Because Cheng Hua’s Spiritual Soul had been reborn and he had been chosen as an Ascender, this series of coincidences allowed him to hit the jackpot.

If the True Game had been even slightly more ruthless, or less ambitious in its plans, the Energy it sent to protect Cheng Hua’s Spiritual Soul would have been enough to obliterate him countless thousands of times over.

And of course, it would have been a death so complete that not even a shred of his soul would have remained.

Therefore, for Cheng Hua to acquire the Sinful God as his game character right from the start as an Ascender might have seemed like smooth sailing on the surface, but the undercurrents were another story entirely.

Hasting Cole was very pleased with Cheng Hua’s current demeanor.

’It’s good that he’s not some reckless hothead! Good that he’s not the naive boy he used to be!’

Because only a person like this could create greater value for the Giant Technology Business Point in the game to come.

And so, with an enthusiasm that even Cheng Hua found somewhat baffling, the president of Giant Technology immediately dismissed everyone else and began to carefully explain Cangxing’s history to him, and even the general details of the Cosmic Game.
