Genshin Impact: One Soul in Two Bodies

Chapter 572 - 572: Looks like Kaito didn't tell her, huh?

Chapter 572 - 572: Looks like Kaito didn't tell her, huh?

This little fox...She really made Wendy want to show her just how much she had going for her.

Wendy glanced down at herself, and the thought arose unbidden.

Not that she particularly cared about that sort of thing on her own account — it being too much of it was its own kind of hassle, honestly — and besides, there was Acheron, Kiana, and the others to consider. But looking at the smug expression on Miko's face right now, she genuinely, sincerely wanted to make a point of it.

After thinking it over, though, she held back.

"So what if you do?" After a long silence, Wendy slowly raised her head and asked.

"Oh, the uses are many, little girl — though I'm sure you wouldn't know anything about that."

Watching Wendy quietly glance down at herself, then snap her head back up to ask that question, Miko found it genuinely entertaining.

She'd almost go so far as to call Wendy cute, if only this girl had a better personality.

But clearly, cute and Wendy were two concepts that did not belong in the same sentence.

"Then why don't you tell me? What uses?" Wendy decided to play dumb.

She wanted to see exactly how Miko would answer that.

Hm...

This little girl, suddenly putting on such a serious face?

Is she up to something?

And is she genuinely asking, or just pretending not to know?

Looking at Wendy, who had adopted the posture of someone humbly seeking instruction, Miko ran through quite a few possibilities.

She had a strong feeling Wendy was laying some kind of trap — only, no matter how hard she thought about it, she couldn't figure out how answering the question could possibly come back to bite her.

Got it.

Just let Lumine answer her.

Something about this little girl felt off...

With that thought, Miko spoke up: "Lumine, why don't you explain it to this little girl."

"Huh? Me?" Lumine, who had been quietly eating her congee off to the side, hadn't expected Miko to suddenly rope her in, and she froze for a moment.

And more importantly — she genuinely didn't know how to answer a question like that.

"That's right, Lumine — go ahead and explain it to Wendy." Miko nodded, smiling pleasantly.

Lumine: "..."

I'll just say I don't know...

After going back and forth on it, Lumine decided to say she didn't know.

It wasn't her Wendy had asked in the first place, so she had no reason to get pulled into this.

"I don't know either." Lumine shook her head.

"Hm?" Miko hadn't expected Lumine to just flat-out say she didn't know, and she couldn't quite wrap her head around it. "Lumine, I can sort of understand Wendy not knowing — but how do you not know?"

"Then... it looks nice?" Seeing Miko put it to her like that, Lumine slowly offered that answer — and even her tone wasn't entirely certain about it.

"Well, that goes without saying." Miko gave a satisfied nod at Lumine's answer, then pressed further: "But what else? There's more than just that, you know."

"Am I not nice to look at?"

Wendy cut in with that at this point — though no one paid her any mind.

"Then I... don't know." Lumine shook her head again.

She did actually have another answer in mind, but she was too embarrassed to say it out loud.

It wasn't that she had any reason to feel shy in front of the people present, but she felt it was better left unsaid — better to let Miko say it herself, if Miko was thinking the same thing. If she turned out to be the only one who'd gone there, that would be mortifying.

"Looks like Lumine's gone shy." Seeing Lumine hesitate before claiming she didn't know, Miko let out a knowing smile.

Miko, you already know the answer — don't make me say it...

It's not like you'd be embarrassed about it anyway...

Why does it have to come from me...

As for Miko saying she was shy, Lumine quietly thought exactly that.

Not that she would ever say it out loud.

Though — if it were just her and Miko, she might actually have said it.

"So what exactly are these uses? I'm starting to feel like you two are stringing me along." At this point Wendy spoke up again.

Sigh...

These two had suddenly gotten so much more guarded around Wendy compared to a moment ago?

Watching the pair of them, and casting her mind back over what they'd been saying just before, Wendy couldn't help but think so.

Going by the flow of the conversation up to now, Miko should already have launched into a proper chat with Wendy about the practical merits of being well-endowed — not be lobbing the question back and forth with Lumine like a ball.

Were these two really treating her as a little girl?

Miko called Wendy "little girl" all the time, but Wendy had never actually thought Miko viewed her that way in earnest.

Looking at the current situation, though, it seemed like Miko — and even Lumine — genuinely did.

"Little girl, haven't you ever put them to use with Kaito?"

Miko turned toward Wendy, a faint smile on her face, and asked her that.

Straight to the point, as expected...

Hearing Miko's question, Wendy couldn't help but think exactly that.

But should I keep playing dumb?

Or...

Forget it...

Better drop the act.

If I keep it up, the question I actually want to ask isn't going to come out...

With that thought, Wendy answered: "Of course I have."

"Well then, there you go — and you still feel the need to ask me, little girl."

Miko hadn't expected Wendy to actually know, let alone answer so directly, and she grew curious about what Wendy was really after.

"So... bigger is better?" Wendy asked again.

Miko: "..."

Looking at Wendy, who didn't seem to be asking out of any ulterior motive, Miko suddenly found herself at a loss for how to answer.

This little girl...

So Kaito never told her?

Though maybe...

Maybe he was worried about hurting her feelings.

After turning it over every which way, Miko settled on that explanation, then answered: "Well, obviously — if you don't believe me, go ask Kaito when you get back. Tell him I'm the one who told you to ask."

She tacked on the part about herself on purpose, worried that Kaito might brush Wendy off with some vague non-answer. This way, Kaito would know that if he didn't tell her, Miko would.

Oh, right...

I wonder if Kaito does anything... particular when he's with Wendy...

The thought occurred to Miko out of nowhere, and her curiosity was thoroughly piqued.

She figured things were probably more or less the same between Kaito and Wendy as they were between her and Kaito, or Lumine and Kaito — but she had a nagging feeling there might be some differences, and that was what intrigued her.

On reflection, though, given how the earlier question had left Wendy somewhere between understanding and not, she doubted she'd get much out of asking.

"Oh. Then I'll ask Kaito about it later."

With a half-understanding, half-puzzled look, Wendy nodded to indicate she'd go ask Kaito.

After that, Wendy continued: "So the two of you really didn't do anything in that room these past few nights? I'm sure you must have."

She was circling back to the question Miko still hadn't answered from before.

Wendy, why are you so fixated on this...

Hearing Wendy bring that up again, Lumine couldn't help but think exactly that.
