Chapter 158 : Moonwhisper Peak
Chapter 158 : Moonwhisper Peak
Outside the majestic Twilight Mountain Range, just a few miles from its entrance, Thorne galloped on his extraordinary steed.
Kicking up clouds of dust behind him, he rode a Tier 3 Magical Beast known as the Windrunner, a magnificent creature three times larger than an ordinary horse.
With the ability to harness the power of the wind, it could reach incredible speeds of up to 1,000 miles per hour!
As Thorne sped along the road, his mount transformed into a blur, darting toward the entrance of the mountains in mere moments.
Pulling back on the reins, Thorne brought the Windrunner to a swift halt, sending dust swirling into the air. "We've arrived!" he sigh, releasing a deep breath filled with excitement.
Before him stood the towering peaks of Twilight Mountain Range, where various Magical Beasts thrived in their wild splendor.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
"Alright buddy," he said affectionately as he patted his loyal companion's neck and tied it securely to a nearby tree. "Wait here for me; we'll head back together once I'm done."
With that reassurance given, Thorne ventured down a narrow path leading into the mountain range.
As he stepped deeper inside, ancient trees loomed overhead like colossal pillars, so massive that they seemed planted by giants themselves!
Their enormous leaves blocked out much of the sunlight, casting an enchanting dimness over everything.
But Thorne wasn't flustered; after years of exploring this mystical place, he was well-acquainted with its outer regions.
In fact, despite its vastness, believed to stretch across all of Lunaris Continent, he had only scratched the surface of what lay within the entire outer region.
After walking for some time, Thorne pulled out a crumpled piece of paper and scanned its contents.
"According to this," he murmured thoughtfully while stroking his chin, "Mythril Apples grow in caves... Last reported sighting was at Moonwhisper Peak."
His eyes sparkled with excitement ad he thought deeply. .
"Moonwhisper Peak? Sounds like just the spot for those Mythril Apple Trees!"
He glanced up at the blazing sun hanging high above, the heat intensifying with every passing moment. "I'd better hurry before night falls," he muttered under his breath before veering onto another path and transforming into a silver blur amidst those towering ancient trees.
About half an hour later...
"Huh? There's something ahead!" Thorne raised an eyebrow as curiosity piqued his interest.
Taking a deep breath to conceal his aura and presence, he stopped near a massive tree where he sensed unusual Mana fluctuations.
Peeking around cautiously revealed an intense scene unfolding just meters away.
Thorne's eyes widened in slightly surprise as he witnessed a fierce spectacle unfolding just a few meters away.
Two Tier 3 Magical Beasts were locked in an epic battle, transforming the surrounding landscape into a chaotic war zone.
The huge ancient trees lay uprooted or snapped in half, while massive craters and ditches marred the ground for hundreds of meters around.
"Is that... the Emberwolf and the Thunder Bear?" Thorne muttered under his breath, barely able to contain his astonishment.
"These beasts are absolutely brutal! But then again, it makes sense, they're natural enemies," he thought, riveted by the clash before him.
"Is anyone else lurking nearby?" he wondered silently.
After scanning the area thoroughly, he opened his eyes again and confirmed what he suspected.
"No one's around, I better make my move." His gaze shifted back to the Emberwolf, determination igniting within him.
Unsheathing the long sword at his waist with practiced ease, Thorne stepped out from his hiding spot.
HOWLLL!
The Emberwolf unleashed a thunderous howl as it caught sight of Thorne emerging from behind a tree.
Its eyes widened in wariness when they locked onto the long, gleaming sword gripped tightly in his hand.
Injured and vulnerable, the Emberwolf instinctively took a few steps back, knowing it was too weak to fight again.
"Ahoooooooo!" The creature's roar echoed through the forest, almost pleading with Thorne to keep his distance.
But Thorne stood his ground a few meters away, shaking his head with an air of calm indifference.
Despite the Emberwolf's pitiful state, he had no intention of letting it escape.
In this harsh world, strength ruled; if their roles were reversed, he knew the Emberwolf wouldn't hesitate to strike him down without mercy.
With a quick tap of his foot on the ground, Thorne transformed into a silver streak of lightning.
In the blink of an eye, he was behind the Emberwolf, and before it could react, his sword, now stained with blood, did its grim work.
With a resounding thud, the Emberwolf's head fell away from its body, blood gushing forth like a fountain as its massive form crumpled to the earth.
Thorne surveyed the fallen beast with a shake of his head before wiping off the blood on his sword and sheathing it once more.
Time was precious; he quickly set about collecting valuable parts from both the Emberwolf and Thunder Bear.
Just minutes later, he finished gathering his spoils of war and stored them away in his storage ring.
"All done," Thorne said with a satisfied grin. "Now let's get out of here." With that thought in mind, he swiftly left behind the devastated battlefield.
Speeding through the towering, ancient trees, Thorne zipped like a bolt of silver lightning, weaving effortlessly between the massive trunks.
After a few exhilarating hours, he finally came to a halt.
Raising his head, he gazed ahead with a wide grin stretching across his face, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Finally! I've arrived. Moonwhisper Peak!" he muttered with a wide grin.
He looked at the huge and colossal mountain ahead with seems to pierced through the sky itself.
Taking a deep breath he took out the paper from before, looking at it deeply and then looking at th huge mountain in the distance.
"Yep, this is it Moonwhisper Peak " He nodded in confirmation.
