Chapter 212: Even when I do bad things?
Chapter 212: Even when I do bad things?
"What are you thinking about, Brent?" Sergei asked quietly into the room. Brent blinked, shaking himself from the memory. He gave a slow, painful breath as he sat back on Sergei’s hips, the feeling of his belt buckle against his ass a foreign feeling. It had been forever since he’d sat on anyone like this.
Brent placed his hand on Sergei’s stomach, feeling how the man flexed under his touch. Cute.
"I was thinking about the first time we slept together." Brent told him quietly. Sergei paused. His eyes grew pained, his hands reaching for Brent’s. He gripped his hand and wrist tightly, his breath leaving him in a long, low exhale.
"I apologise for that." Sergei muttered. "I truly did not mean to hurt you like that. I was just...so scared of losing you. I thought putting distance between us, only physical distance would make the moments we spent together even more sweet. I didn’t know, Brent. I’m sorry." Sergei apologised and Brent felt his chest ache.
He was always so sincere with his apologies. He always meant them.
Brent shifted awkwardly on top of him.
"It’s okay now." Brent told him and Sergei stared up at him with soulful eyes.
"No, it’s not. I misunderstood a fundamental part of your and neglected your needs. It’s not okay." Sergei glanced at Brent, looking pained. "Even now you’re neglected. I wouldn’t have any place to complain if you got your needs met somewhere else." Brent felt his spine stiffen.
"You wouldn’t complain?" It was a dangerous question from his mouth and Sergei nodded. He swallowed thickly, looking ill at even the thought.
"Of course I have no room to complain. I would hate it, but what could I do? It’s not as if I purposefully put distance between us, and you didn’t choose it either. I would..." Sergei hesitated for a second. "I would just have to make sure that now that I’m here, everyone else has no chance to win your heart." Brent, who was ready to get angry at the man for suggesting that he would sleep around behind Sergei’s back, paused.
In a way, what he was saying was sweet. Thoughtful. He was putting Brent’s needs over his own, but Brent didn’t like that either. Being that nice was also a problem.
"So you’d have no problems if I slept with others?" Brent asked and watched as Sergei flinched. He could tell that the man was fighting himself, trying to remain a gentleman. That wasn’t what Brent wanted right now.
"W-Well, I’d have some problems, but-"
"So you wouldn’t punish me if I slept with someone else while we’re together?" Brent pushed. He kept pushing until Sergei finally snapped.
Brent found their positions flipped, Sergei looming over him, a beast barely contained by a human shell.
"I would hate to even consider that someone else had touched you. I’d be furious, angry, but what could I do? You’re so pretty that fools couldn’t help but think that they could get close to you. I care for you too much to punish you for something like that. Those who touched you, however, should not think that they had escaped my wrath. I didn’t want to scare you, but the disgusting insects that dared to touch what is mine would be wiped from existence." Sergei’s voice was low, fast, and held a hint of an accent.
Brent had never been so hot and bothered in his life.
"Sergei," Brent started, melting into the bed beneath him. What a sweet man, even as he stared at him with the eyes of an apex predator. There had to be something seriously wrong with him that he found that so damn hot. "I haven’t touched a single person outside of guiding purposes since we started getting serious months ago. Even then, I’ve been keeping any guiding I do strictly to hand holding. Like Kellen does." Brent told him sweetly.
He could tell it took him a moment to process what Brent said and the meaning behind it. Sergei let out a harsh breath, his normally pale face flushing dangerously red as he raised a hand to cover his lower face. The fact that he was still pinning Brent under him with one hand covering his face?
Hot. Damn.
"I’ve been taking this very seriously. Did you think I wouldn’t consider it cheating? You idiot." Brent said sweetly. He reached out, tugging at the hand covering Sergei’s face until it fell away. Sergei looked incredibly moved as Brent cupped his cheek with his hand. "For someone so smart and collected, you’re a little dumb sometimes." Brent told him affectionately and Sergei closed his eyes, leaning into Brent’s touch with a small chuckle.
"I can’t help but agree when it comes to you." Sergei admitted. "I just don’t want to lose you. Of course...it’s cheating. Of course it is, but I would rather have some of you then none of you." When Sergei said that Brent felt like any resistance he had disappeared. Ah.
"I am going to ruin you tonight." Brent said softly. Sergei’s eyes jerked open, staring down at the Guide.
"What?" He asked, as if he hadn’t heard him speak.
"I am going to make sure that anyone who sees you knows that you aren’t alone. That you’re with someone." Brent told him. "I’m going to make sure that no one else will even be able to get close to you because you’ll have my mark all over you. You yourself are not even going to desire anyone else because I’m going to ruin you so good." Brent told him hoarsely. Sergei stared at Brent for a long, heavy moment.
Then his head fell and he tucked it against Brent’s throat. The ragged, harsh breath that washed over his skin made Brent shiver.
"I am already ruined. The moment you sat in my lap in the middle of my meeting I was gone." Sergei whispered. Brent felt his heart thud at the reminder. That had been months ago, eons ago.
"Yes, but you haven’t been ruined fully yet. I’m going to corrupt you until you are stained in the same colours as me." Brent whispered. He pressed a kiss against the top of Sergei’s head. "Tell me, how do you want me, Sergei? What do you want to do with me now that you have me? Because I want every single bit of you, inside and out. I want to feast on you entirely. I want to know every inch of your body until I can play you with just my fingers alone. I’ll take whatever you give me, I won’t rush you, but fuck, I ache for you." The way that this powerful, dangerous man trembled just because of Brent’s words made him feel high.
"Take anything you want from me. Give me anything you want. I just want to know you, Brent. My sweet, lovely Brent." The desperate way he whispered brought tears to Brent’s eyes.
"Shit." Brent whispered. He tugged the man closer and Sergei fell on top of him. The two remained interlocked, hugging, their breaths harsh, the sounds of their hearts beating until they slowly began to beat as one. Brent had never thought he’d get something this precious, this lovely, in his whole life.
He’d never been this greedy. Never thought this far ahead. Even when he’d been approaching Kellen, he’d done it as partially a joke and partially as a way to secure his future. He hadn’t meant it. This?
This he meant. This scared him. This made him realise he was capable of this kind of greed, and this kind of fear. Was this why his grandfather had always tucked his grandmother away from the limelight? This kind of love? Was Brent even fully capable of this kind of love?
The fears began to sneak in before Brent could even begin to enjoy this moment, but Sergei didn’t let them linger for long.
"Are we...dating now?" Sergei asked hesitantly and Brent gave a wet laugh.
"We might as well sign the marriage certificate at this point, Sergei, since I can’t imagine anyone else would want to marry me at this point." He joked. Sergei went still.
"Don’t say that." Sergei warned, his voice serious. "I’ll take you up on it, and I don’t think we should do something like that without intention. Besides, everyone will want you. You’re the new heir of the James family fortune and power. Everyone is going to want to place their claim on you." Sergei hesitated. "But I’m the only one allowed to do that, right?" Brent groaned.
He truly wanted to mess this man up.
"Have you ever bottomed, Sergei?" Brent asked, completely ignoring Sergei’s previous question until his own was answered. Sergei paused.
"No, but I’m not opposed?" He suggested and Brent held him closer. He let out a soft sigh, stroking his hand down his back, along his spine.
"Good." Brent muttered. "Of course you are allowed to mark me, but I was only teasing. We’ll have to wait. I don’t want to ruin Kellen’s big moment after he worked up the courage to do it finally." Sergei froze.
"Do what finally?" He asked and Brent grinned.
"Kellen is going to propose to Rhys tomorrow." Sergei sat up, Brent’s hand falling away from him as he pushed himself upright to stare into Brent’s grinning, amused face. He looked shocked, almost horrified.
"What? He’s doing that tomorrow? Why am I only hearing about it now?" Sergei asked and Brent’s grin was very amused.
"We’ve been working together behind the scenes to get everything arranged. Kellen would have proposed earlier if the rings had been ready, but they took longer." Brent’s grin was even more dangerous as Sergei’s eyes narrowed. "I lied. I intentionally told them a different date and told them to lie to Kellen about their being ready so that his parents had to carry them here. I wanted them to do it here. I didn’t want to miss out on something so precious for my friend. Are you sure you want to be with someone so selfish, Sergei?" Brent asked, admitting the truth to Sergei, and Sergei alone. He would never tell Kellen the truth, or his parents. No one knew this but him and the jeweler who was sworn to secrecy.
Sergei stared at him, his eyes narrowing slightly before he let out a low breath.
"While I feel bad for not telling Kellen anything, fuck Rhys." Sergei said, without venom in his voice. "He deserves not knowing, and I would never hate you for wanting to be involved in someone’s life that you care about. Is it wrong? Yes, but all Espers and Guides are a little crazy when it comes to the people they love." Sergei told him.
Brent had never felt so seen in his life. Was this...what it was supposed to feel like?
"God, I just want to shower you with my love." Brent muttered and Sergei’s eyes lit up and Brent swore that the chair in the corner of the bedroom levitated for a second.
"You can do that." Sergei breathed and Brent laughed.
"Then come here. I want to kiss you some more. The night is still young, let me get to learn your body all over again." Brent whispered. Sergei didn’t hesitate and Brent loved him more for it. "You’re tied to me now. Don’t regret it, Sergei." Sergei’s eyes flashed.
"Never. I will never regret this." He promised, his lips brushing against Brent’s.
