AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 118: Medium

Chapter 118: Medium

Damien slashed his sword at the legs of the beastman; however, the cheetah beastman didn't let him get close to him. He sparred just as easily and quickly as Damien, despite being in Beastman form.

His large claws swatted and sliced at Damien, who ducked and dodged. Damien felt like a child trying to fend off an adult and not just any adult—one who was the size of a mini mountain.

He couldn't control his mana as well as he thought he would.

'Think,' he said to himself. 'Think of something.'

Because Damien knew that there was no point in going back and forth like this. He didn't have the advantage of neither a big build nor sharp claws. Because his mana was unstable, he couldn't use Waterblade properly either.

He looked around, carefully searching for something. His eyes and ears were wide open, and it was then—he heard the sound of water flowing.

Damien's eyes brightened; however, that momentary distraction cost him quite a lot. Because just as he turned to look at his left, the cheetah beastman brought down his claws.

'Fuck,' Damien cursed as he felt a burning sensation on his left shoulder. He turned and looked at the deep gash that was profusely bleeding.

Not wasting another second, Damien turned around and ran right in the direction of the water source. This beastman was compatible with thunder and lightning, while his powers were compatible with water. Damien knew that the chances of him getting roasted were really high. But he needed to try it.

If someone was watching over him, then that someone might as well help him fend this beastman off.

'You fucker, you better have my back for all the mess that you have made me go through,' Damien muttered as he dashed towards the stream that was not far from where he stood.

The cheetah beastman was momentarily stunned when he saw that Damien had turned on his feet and ran away. As a warrior class, even if he joined the dark guild, the beastman was taught to never show his back to his opponent.

Seeing Damien run away from him left the beastman shocked enough to pause. But the shock only lasted for three seconds before he let out a roar and charged at the man who showed his back to him.

"Maui!" Damien called out.

He knew that the chances of him winning a race against a cheetah beastman were close to none.

Damien never thought that he would need a water source to channel his mana properly because he didn't see Xavier standing in a pit of fire to control his mana, and that man didn't tell him that there was a need for a medium either.

Maybe he didn't know it himself, thought Damien as he turned to look at the cheetah beastman who was right in front of him now.

This time around, Damien wasn't scared. Who knows from where he got the courage? But he knew that he could take this cheetah beastman down.

He charged again, but this time around his movements were smooth, and he was moving as if gliding on water itself. His thrust, rend, and did every impossible stunt that he was sure he would have never been able to do.

The cheetah beastman who had been winning till now was shocked when he saw the changes in the man; he thought of running away, but Damien didn't give him a way out. Clyde was pushed further and further back until—

Damien swathed waterblade at the weak spot.

SLASH

ROAR

Pain shot through his left leg, and his beast form unravelled itself.

"What are you?" Clyde breathed out as he lay slumped on the ground.

"Do you think you are in the position to ask me, "Who am I?" Damien remarked. He looked down at the beastman and placed his sword against his neck. "You better tell me everything, and I will make your death smoother."

The cheetah beastman curled his lips derisively.

"You—"

BAM!
